15 Words to Spell Correctly (Infographic)

Spelling Bee AwardI’m not ashamed to admit it, I’m a horrible speller. There are no spelling bee trophies on my fireplace mantle, and in college carrying a dictionary around with me at all times was mandatory.

There is nothing more embarrassing than publishing a post only to have someone email you and point out some simple spelling error you missed. After 6 years of blogging, I still have a mild panic attack every time I hit the publish button.

If you struggle like I do, then please take a moment to check out this infographic below. It should create some real value for you. [Read more...]

Nonprofit Communication Trends 2012 (Infographic)

2012 Nonprofit TrendsI wanted to share this very good infographic below covering the nonprofit communication trends for 2012.

A few things stand out to me. One was that 77% of nonprofits will email their supporters monthly. In my opinion, once a month is not enough. You need to be in front of your supporters a bit more, and bi-weekly would be my recommendation.

That said, you must be careful not to become spammy or annoying. So the emails have got to create massive value for your audience. Don’t just blast them asking for donations, make sure you are generating content relevant to them and keep your nonprofit on their radar. [Read more...]

Growth of QR Codes (Infographic)

I wanted to take a moment and share this fantastic infographic on the growth of QR Codes with you.

These are the two most interesting statistics to me:

  • QR Codes Scanned Mostly by Women (64%)
  • Only 22% of Fortune 50 Companies Using QR Codes

Seems a bit of a disconnect between the two numbers to me, but then again, the larger the company the slower the implementation.

There has been a lot of debate over the last few months as to the use of QR Codes, and honestly, I am torn on the subject. I would love to get your opinions on what you think the future holds, and what the evolution of the QR Code might look like.
